Why an electric scooter suits a half-day loop
The central sights of Da Lat sit close together around Xuan Huong Lake, usually just a few kilometres apart. That is perfect for an electric scooter: it's quiet, easy to handle at low speed and simple to park. The whole loop below is short — about 15–20 km including small detours — so the two batteries that come with every scooter are more than enough. Plan around 3–4 hours with stops.
The half-day loop, step by step
- 1. Xuan Huong Lake — start with a slow ride along the lake. In the morning the water is often misty; in the afternoon the light is soft. Park in a guarded lot and walk a short stretch of the shore.
- 2. Da Lat Flower Garden — on the north-east shore of the lake, a short ride away. A relaxed stop for flowers and photos; buy a ticket at the gate.
- 3. Da Lat Railway Station — east of the lake, with its colourful 1930s building and old carriages. Good for photos.
- 4. Lam Vien Square — back on the south side of the lake, with the big glass artichoke and wild-sunflower domes and a wide view over the water.
- 5. Da Lat Cathedral — the "Rooster Church" with its tall tower, a few minutes from the square.
- 6. Domaine de Marie — the pink church on a small hill with a quiet garden. See our Domaine de Marie guide.
- 7. Da Lat Market — finish in the centre for a drink, a snack or some local produce. If you chose an afternoon loop, stay on for the night market.

Morning or afternoon?
Morning is the calmest: cool air, fewer people at the sights and soft light over the lake. Our shop opens at 4:30, so you can start early. An afternoon loop ends nicely at the market area as the lights come on — just remember that the rental day runs until 21:00. Many sights have entrance tickets and their own hours, so check at the gate.
Tips for a smooth ride
- Parking: use guarded "gửi xe" lots near the sights and keep the ticket — see electric scooter parking in Da Lat.
- Hills: even the centre has short slopes. Ride steadily uphill and brake gently on the way down.
- Stay central: this loop is built for the city. For long steep passes like Prenn, Mimosa or Lang Biang, choose the Honda Air Blade 125cc instead.
- Two riders: maximum 2 people with a combined weight under 140 kg.
- Battery: if you add extra detours and need more, come back to the shop and we swap in a full battery for 20,000 VND. How far the batteries go is explained in our battery guide.
- Traffic: Vietnam drives on the right; electric scooters are very quiet, so watch for pedestrians who may not hear you. No alcohol when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
