How far a rented electric scooter goes in Da Lat
When you rent an electric scooter in Da Lat from us, it comes with 2 batteries. One battery lasts about 35–40 km; each scooter comes with 2 batteries, about 60–70 km in total. You start the day with both full. For a day in the city — the lake, the market, cafés and central sights — that is usually more than enough.
What uses more battery
- Hills: Da Lat is hilly even in the centre. Long climbs use noticeably more power than flat roads.
- Two riders: a passenger adds weight, so the battery goes down faster. Two riders must weigh under 140 kg combined.
- Full throttle: fast starts and riding at top speed all the time shorten the distance.
- Cold mornings: batteries are a little less lively in cold weather, so keep some reserve on early rides.

When to swap the battery
Watch the battery indicator. When about a third is left, start heading back towards the centre. If you want to keep riding, come to our shop at 1/15/5 Thong Thien Hoc and we swap in a fully charged battery for 20,000 VND. Never ride until the battery is completely flat — pushing a scooter up a Da Lat hill is no fun.
- Please don't use other chargers and don't remove the battery yourself.
- Our shop is central, so a swap fits easily into a lunch or coffee break.
Plan your day around the battery
- Do the hilliest or furthest stop first, while the battery is full.
- Group sights that are close together, park and walk between them.
- Keep the evening ride to the night market short and simple.
- For the wider city area, our article on exploring Da Lat by electric scooter has a relaxed route.
Where the electric scooter is not the right choice
Long, steep passes such as Prenn and Mimosa and the road up Lang Biang, as well as long day trips to the tea hills or the big waterfalls, are not a good fit for an electric scooter. For those days, take a Honda Air Blade 125cc — same price, more power, and you won't think about the battery at all.
Good to know
- Before you leave, we take a short test ride and film the scooter together, including the battery level.
- Vietnam drives on the right; in rain slow down and never ride through deep water.
- No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
- All details are in our electric scooter rental rules.
