Why this loop suits an electric scooter
The road around Xuan Huong Lake is short, mostly gentle and full of places to stop — exactly what an electric scooter does best. It's quiet, there are no gears to think about, and you can pull over whenever a view catches your eye. The lake is only a short ride from our shop, so you can start the loop within minutes of picking up the scooter.
A simple lakeside loop
- Start on the south-eastern shore at Lam Vien Square — the big open square with the glass flower-bud and artichoke-shaped buildings. A good first photo stop with the lake behind you.
- Ride along the lake past the pine trees and lakeside cafés. Take it slowly: this is a ride for looking around, not for speed.
- Stop at the Da Lat Flower Garden at the northern end of the lake — paths full of seasonal flowers, greenhouses and shady corners. There is an entrance ticket and parking at the gate.
- Continue along the north shore by the green hills of the golf course and come back around towards the centre and the market area.
The whole circuit is only a few kilometres, so even with stops it fits easily into a morning or an afternoon. Want to go further? Our half-day city loop by electric scooter adds the railway station, the cathedral and Domaine de Marie.

Where to park
Use the paid parking spots (gửi xe) at the Flower Garden, around Lam Vien Square and next to busy cafés, and keep your ticket. Avoid leaving the scooter on the footpath or on a bend of the lake road. More tips in our electric scooter parking guide.
Best time to ride
- Early morning — calm water, mist over the lake, locals jogging and doing exercise. Our shop opens at 4:30 am.
- Late afternoon — warm light on the water and the hills; a nice time for a lakeside coffee.
- Evening — the lights around the lake are pretty, but traffic near the market and the square gets busy, especially at weekends. Ride slowly and watch for pedestrians.
Battery: no need to worry on this loop
Each scooter comes with 2 batteries, which is plenty for the lake loop and a few extra stops in town. If you plan a longer day, you can swap in a full battery at the shop for 20,000 VND. Read our electric scooter battery guide for how to plan your day.
Safety around the lake
- An electric scooter is almost silent — pedestrians and cyclists may not hear you, so slow down and use the horn gently.
- Vietnam drives on the right. Watch for cars pulling out of parking spots and tour buses near the square.
- Maximum 2 riders with a combined weight under 140 kg; helmets on for both.
- No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
