First: how far is your homestay?
"Outside the centre" can mean a quiet street ten minutes from Xuan Huong Lake, or a farm stay deep in the valleys towards Tuyen Lam, Trai Mat or Lac Duong. Before you choose a bike, look at the map: how far is the homestay from the centre, and is the road to it steep? Send us the name or a map pin and we'll tell you honestly which bike suits it. Our guide to where to stay in Da Lat describes the different areas.
When an electric scooter works well
- Your homestay is on the edge of the city and the road there is mostly gentle.
- You spend your days in and around the centre: the lake, cafés, the market, the station.
- You ride alone or as two people with a combined weight under 140 kg.
- You don't mind planning one battery swap at the shop on your daily route.
An electric scooter is quiet, easy to ride and pleasant on calm evening rides back to a homestay among the pines.

Planning the batteries around your homestay
Each scooter comes with 2 batteries, and you can swap a low one for a full one at our shop for 20,000 VND. The key with a homestay outside the centre is simple: make sure you never leave the city with too little battery for the ride home. A few habits that help:
- Count your homestay–centre trip twice a day (there and back) when you plan the day.
- Pass the shop at midday or before your evening ride home to swap the battery.
- Uphill roads and two riders use more battery — watch the display and swap earlier rather than later.
Our battery guide explains how far to plan, and riding an electric scooter on Da Lat's hills covers climbing and braking on steep streets.
When to choose the Honda Air Blade instead
- The homestay is far out — for example in the Lac Duong valleys, past Tuyen Lam Lake or along long hill roads.
- The road home has long, steep climbs, or you plan rides over the Prenn or Mimosa passes or to Lang Biang.
- You want to ride to Cau Dat or other distant sights from the homestay without passing the shop.
For these cases the Honda Air Blade 125cc is the better and calmer choice — same price, 150,000 VND per day, and it comes with 1 liter of fuel.
Delivery, parking and safety
- For rentals of 2 days or more we deliver free to hotels in central Da Lat. If your homestay is outside the centre, message us with the location and we'll tell you what's possible.
- Park the scooter inside or in a safe spot at the homestay overnight — ask your host.
- Country roads can be dark at night: ride slowly, and both riders wear helmets.
- No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law. All details are in our electric scooter rental rules.
