The short answer
- Foreign guests: your original passport.
- Vietnamese guests: your CCCD (citizen ID card).
- The rental fee: 150,000 VND per day for every bike, paid upfront for the days you need.
- A phone with WhatsApp, Zalo, Telegram or WeChat so we can stay in touch.
That's all you need to rent a motorbike in Da Lat with us. There's no cash deposit and no other paperwork. The document stays safely at the shop while you have the bike and comes back to you as soon as you return it — our article on renting with no cash deposit explains why we work this way.
Why the original, not a photo?
We keep the document itself instead of cash, so a photo or photocopy can't replace it. It's still a good idea to keep a photo of your passport on your phone for your own records.
Common questions
- My hotel kept my passport. Many hotels only scan it at check-in and give it back. If yours is holding it, ask for it back before you come to pick up the bike — it's easiest to check in first and rent afterwards.
- I need my passport during the rental (for a bus ticket, a flight or a new hotel). Plan to return the bike first, or message us and we'll find a simple solution together.
- We are a group. Tell us in your message how many bikes you need and who will ride, and we'll confirm what to bring before you come.
- Do I need to book? Not always, but a short message with your date and bike keeps one ready for you, especially at weekends and on holidays.

Paying for the rental
The price is fixed: 150,000 VND per day for the Honda Vision 110cc, Honda Air Blade 125cc or electric scooter, with no hidden fees. You pay at pick-up for the days you plan to ride. A rental day runs from pick-up until 21:00. If you have questions about how to pay, just ask in your booking message. Everything included in the price is on our Da Lat motorbike rental page.
What you get at pick-up
- A short test ride, and a video of the bike's condition that we film together — it protects you as well as us.
- A free helmet and a phone holder for Google Maps.
- Gas scooters come with 1 liter of fuel; electric scooters come with full batteries.
- Free delivery to hotels in central Da Lat for rentals of 2 days or more.
The whole process takes only a few minutes — see how to rent a motorbike in Da Lat step by step.
Before you ride
- Vietnam drives on the right; take it slowly for the first few minutes.
- Wear your helmet, no alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
- Return the bike before 21:00 on your last day and your document is handed back on the spot.
