Weather in Da Lat in November
November is the turning point between the rainy and the dry season. Early in the month you can still get afternoon showers, sometimes heavy but usually short; towards the end of the month dry, sunny days become more common. Days are pleasant — often around 20°C — while early mornings and evenings are cool and can feel cold, especially on open hills and when riding. For the full year, see our guide to Da Lat weather by month.
- Mornings: cool, often misty in the valleys — great for photos.
- Middle of the day: mild and often sunny; the best time for longer rides.
- Afternoons: a shower is still possible, mainly in the first half of the month.
- Evenings: cold enough for a jacket at the night market.
What's in season in November
- Wild sunflowers (dã quỳ): the yellow flowers bloom along roads and hillsides from about late October to December, often at their best around mid-November. Read our wild sunflower guide for where to ride.
- Pink grass (cỏ hồng): some open hills around the city turn pink from about November to December — see our pink grass season guide.
- Misty sunrises: clear, cool mornings after the rains are good for cloud hunting; our cloud hunting guide explains where and when.
- Persimmons and local produce: late autumn is the season for dried persimmons (hồng treo gió) and fresh fruit and vegetables at the market. Strawberry farms get busier as the dry season starts; see strawberry farms in Da Lat.
- Flower Festival build-up: the 2026 Flower Festival is planned for the second half of December. Check the official announcements before you fix your dates.

What to pack for Da Lat in November
- A warm jacket or fleece and a light sweater — layers work best.
- A rain jacket or poncho for the odd shower (we also have ponchos at the shop).
- Gloves and a scarf or buff if you plan sunrise rides.
- Closed shoes with good grip; paths to viewpoints can be muddy early in the month.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses — the midday sun at this altitude is strong even when the air is cool.
Riding a motorbike in November
November is a great month for riding: less rain, green hills and flowers by the road. A few tips:
- Plan longer rides for the morning and early afternoon, and keep an eye on the sky after 2–3 pm early in the month.
- Roads can stay wet and slippery in shaded bends after rain — slow down and brake gently.
- For flower hills and passes outside the city, the Honda Air Blade 125cc is the most comfortable; the electric scooter is best for the city and nearby spots.
- Vietnam drives on the right. No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
Is November a good time to visit Da Lat?
Yes — for many locals it's one of the best months: fewer crowds than the December holidays, flowers everywhere and cool, fresh air. Weekends and public holidays are busier, so book your room and bike a little ahead if you come then.
