Why an electric scooter is good for beginners
- No gears, no clutch: you only use the throttle and the two brakes.
- Quiet and smooth: no engine vibration, so it's easier to hear traffic and stay relaxed.
- Light: easy to push, park and turn around when you take a wrong street.
- No fuel stops: one battery lasts about 35–40 km; each scooter comes with 2 batteries, about 60–70 km in total — plenty for a day in the city.
The controls in one minute
- Right grip: the throttle. Twist it gently — an electric motor pulls away straight away, without the short delay of a gas scooter.
- Right lever: front brake. Left lever: rear brake. Use both together, softly.
- Switch it on with the key, keep your hand off the throttle until both feet are ready, then roll off slowly.
- Lights, indicators and horn are on the handlebar — we show you each one before you leave.
Your first ride, step by step
- At our shop we explain the scooter, then you take a short test ride in front of the shop with us watching.
- We film the scooter's condition together before you go.
- Start on flat, quiet streets in the morning, when traffic is lighter.
- Practise starting, stopping and slow turns until it feels natural — ten minutes is often enough.
- Only then ride towards Xuan Huong Lake and the busier centre.

Hills: the main thing beginners should know
Da Lat is built on hills, even in the centre. Going up, keep a steady throttle. Going down, ease off early and brake gently with both brakes, slowing down before bends rather than in them. Long steep passes such as Prenn, Mimosa and the road up Lang Biang are not for electric scooters — and not for a first ride either. For those trips later, choose a Honda Air Blade 125cc at the same price.
Traffic tips for first-time riders
- Vietnam drives on the right. Keep to the right side of the lane and let faster bikes pass.
- A horn usually means "I'm here", not anger — stay calm and keep a steady line.
- Slow down at roundabouts and intersections and look around, even on green.
- Avoid sudden moves; predictable riding keeps you safe.
- Don't carry a passenger until you feel confident. The limit is 2 riders under 140 kg combined.
- No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
- Use the phone holder for Google Maps — never hold your phone while riding.

Good first routes for beginners
- A slow loop around Xuan Huong Lake.
- The flower park and the streets around the lake's north side.
- Da Lat Railway Station, then back to the centre for coffee.
Keep rides short, park in guarded lots (gửi xe) and head back when about a third of the battery is left. A battery swap at our shop costs 20,000 VND.
