Why an electric scooter suits the evening
- Short city distances: the lake, Lam Vien Square and the night market are all close to each other.
- Quiet and smooth: no engine noise and no gears — pleasant in busy, slow evening traffic.
- Easy to park: light enough to move into a tight spot at a guarded lot.
Plan the battery before dark
One battery lasts about 35–40 km; each scooter comes with 2 batteries, about 60–70 km in total. An evening in the centre uses only a small part of that — but if you have been riding all day, check the level before sunset. A battery swap at our shop costs 20,000 VND, so it is easy to start the evening with a fresh battery.
Lights and visibility
- Check the headlight, brake light and indicators before you leave.
- Electric scooters are quiet — pedestrians may not hear you, so ride slowly and use the horn lightly when needed.
- Wear something light-coloured if you can, and keep a safe distance from cars.

Dress for the cold
Da Lat nights are cool all year, and the wind on a scooter makes it feel colder. Bring a jacket, long trousers and closed shoes. In the rainy season, keep a raincoat under the seat.
A simple evening route
- Start with a slow loop around Xuan Huong Lake as the lights come on.
- Stop at Lam Vien Square to see the lit glass domes.
- Park at a guarded lot (gửi xe) near Da Lat Market and walk the night market — read our night market guide for what to eat.
- Finish with a warm drink at a café in the centre before you ride back.
For a daytime version of this, see exploring Da Lat by electric scooter.
What to avoid at night
- Dark forest and mountain roads outside the city — keep evening rides in the lit centre.
- Long steep passes such as Prenn, Mimosa or the road up Lang Biang are not for electric scooters at any time; rent a Honda Air Blade 125cc for those trips.
- Max 2 riders with a combined weight under 140 kg.
- No alcohol or beer when riding — even after dinner — and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law. Vietnam drives on the right.
