Why an electric scooter suits café hopping
- Short distances: many of Da Lat's best cafés are only a few kilometres apart.
- Quiet and smooth: no engine noise and no gears — just twist and go, and stop often.
- No fuel stops: one battery lasts about 35–40 km; each scooter comes with 2 batteries, about 60–70 km in total. That's more than enough for a day of short hops.
- Easy to park: light enough to push into tight café parking spots.
Plan by area, not by list
The trick is to group cafés by area so you ride a little and sit a lot. A relaxed day might look like this:
- Morning around Xuan Huong Lake: start with coffee near the lake while the mist lifts, then ride the streets on the hills around it — many small cafés have views over the rooftops.
- Late morning in the pine-garden cafés on the edges of the centre: garden seating, flowers and calm.
- Afternoon on the eastern hills towards Trai Mat: quieter roads and cafés looking over greenhouses and valleys. Keep an eye on the battery here, as the roads go up and down.

Battery planning in one minute
- Check the battery level when you leave, and again after each café.
- Hills use more battery than flat streets, so keep the longest ride for when the battery is fresh.
- When about a third is left, head back towards the centre. A battery swap at our shop costs 20,000 VND.
What to avoid
- Long steep passes such as Prenn, Mimosa or the road up Lang Biang are not for electric scooters. If your café list includes places out that way, rent a Honda Air Blade 125cc instead — same price.
- Max 2 riders with a combined weight under 140 kg.
- No alcohol or beer when riding — order coffee, tea or a hot chocolate instead — and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
All conditions are in our electric scooter rental rules. If you want a city route as well, see exploring Da Lat by electric scooter.
Parking at cafés
- Many cafés have their own parking with an attendant; elsewhere use a guarded lot (gửi xe) and keep the ticket.
- Lock the steering and take the key with you.
- Don't leave phones or bags on the scooter while you sit inside.
Small comfort tips
- Da Lat mornings and evenings can be cold — bring a light jacket for the ride.
- Use the phone holder for Google Maps; never hold your phone while riding.
- Vietnam drives on the right; ride slowly in the narrow lanes around the cafés.
- A rental day runs until 21:00, so evening coffee near the lake is the perfect last stop.
