How this 2-day plan works
This Dalat 2 day itinerary by motorbike keeps day one close to town and saves the early start for day two, when the morning light is best. Most sights on day one are within about 5–7 km of Xuan Huong Lake, so even a beginner can ride it comfortably. Day two goes a little further out, about 20–25 km each way to the tea hills. If you only want one day, follow day one and add the night market.
Day 1 morning: the lake and the old town
- Xuan Huong Lake: start with a slow loop around the lake (about 5 km) and a coffee by the water.
- Da Lat Railway Station: a short ride east of the lake, with its old French-era station building and vintage carriages for photos.
- Domaine de Marie and Crazy House: two very different buildings on the west side of the centre, close to each other — the pink church and the strange, tree-like guesthouse-gallery.
Park at guarded lots (gửi xe), keep your ticket and walk between nearby sights.

Day 1 afternoon: waterfall, monastery and pine lake
- Datanla Waterfall: about 5–7 km south of the centre. You can walk down or ride the alpine coaster to the falls.
- Truc Lam Monastery and Tuyen Lam Lake: a few kilometres further, among pine hills. Ride there directly or take the cable car from Robin Hill and come back for your bike.
- Sunset: stop at a café among the pines on the way back to town.

Day 1 evening: the night market
In the evening, ride back to the centre, park near the central market and walk around the Da Lat night market: grilled rice paper, hot soy milk, sweet soups and warm clothes if you came unprepared for the cool air. Go to bed early — tomorrow starts before dawn.
Day 2 dawn: sunrise over the Cau Dat tea hills
The tea hills of Cau Dat are about 20–25 km from the centre, roughly 40–60 minutes by scooter. Leave around 4:30–5:00 to catch the sunrise and, on lucky mornings, a sea of clouds over the valley. Our Cau Dat sunrise guide explains the road and the best time. On the way back, stop at Linh Phuoc Pagoda in Trai Mat (about 8 km from the centre), famous for its mosaic decoration, and have a late breakfast in town.

Day 2 late morning: pack up and go
Check out of your hotel, have a last coffee and return the bike before you leave for the bus or the airport. If you still have a few hours, add a flower farm or a quiet lakeside café — keep the last ride short so you are not in a hurry.
Which bike for 2 days
- Honda Air Blade 125cc: the best choice for this plan, especially for the hills to Cau Dat and with two riders.
- Honda Vision 110cc: light and easy, fine for day one and for one rider.
- Electric scooter: great for day one in the city, but not for the long, hilly ride to the tea hills.
Good to know
- Vietnam drives on the right; ride slowly on wet or misty roads and brake gently downhill.
- Mornings and evenings are cold — bring a warm jacket, and a raincoat in the rainy season.
- No alcohol or beer when riding, and strictly follow Vietnamese traffic law.
- For a longer stay, see our 3-day plan and the routes page.
